Choose an AI aggregator with your own tasks

A long model list is a starting point. A useful AI aggregator should give you the models, workflow, and cost visibility you need to finish your work. Test those qualities with a small set of tasks you know well.

1. Check the models you actually need

Look for exact model names and current availability. A provider logo or a broad model family name does not tell you which version will answer. Also check the capabilities exposed by the app: access to a model does not automatically include every tool in the provider’s own application.

In Colay, start with the model catalog, then check the choices available in your account. Avoid choosing purely by the largest catalog or assuming every listed model is equally appropriate for your tasks.

2. Run a small, repeatable comparison

  • Choose a few recurring tasks, such as revising a document, explaining code, or reviewing an idea.
  • Give each model the same context, constraints, and desired output format.
  • Evaluate accuracy, completeness, and the editing needed before the result is useful.
  • Record actual usage and repeat important tests to see whether the result is consistent.

3. Test the workflow around the answer

Check whether you can continue the conversation comfortably and compare another approach when the first result falls short. If your work depends on files or saved context, test those with representative material rather than assuming the feature name tells the whole story.

Colay offers direct agents, Auto routing, Consensus, and Ask separately. Try the mode that matches your work. A multi-agent discussion can help expose different assumptions, while one direct agent may be enough for a focused task.

4. Understand cost and account conditions

Read the allowance, billing period, and usage rules. With credit-based plans, compare the actual cost of your chosen models and workflows. Do not assume that a credit always equals one answer or that a multi-agent discussion costs the same as a single response.

Check the privacy policy, terms, and support channel before uploading sensitive work. For your own evaluation, use material you are comfortable sharing with the service. Decide what a successful trial looks like before selecting a paid plan.

Questions, answered

Which aggregator is best for everyone?

There is no universal choice. The useful comparison is which service handles your tasks, required models, workflow, and budget well. Use the same practical test across your shortlist.
