Colay / macOS

Multiple AI models, within reach on your Mac

Colay for macOS puts an AI command bar alongside your everyday work. Open it when you need to draft, compare approaches or turn a question into a structured result. Choose an agent, use Auto or ask several agents to contribute through Consensus.

When the desktop app is useful

Keep your document or project open and bring up Colay when you need another perspective. A configurable global shortcut opens the command bar, so you can return to an ongoing task without searching through browser tabs. Choose a combination that does not conflict with your other apps.

For a first task, supply a short brief and ask for a specific output: a rewritten paragraph, a checklist or an explanation of an attached image. Provide the relevant material explicitly; opening the app does not mean it can see everything on your Mac.

Install from the official website

Download the official Colay-macOS-universal.dmg, open the disk image and drag Colay into Applications. Launch Colay from Applications and follow the sign-in flow if your task requires an account. The installation guide remains the source for current download instructions.

If the installer is unsuitable for your setup, you can start in the web app. Keep the downloaded app separate from unrelated installers or third-party mirrors.

One brief, different ways to work

Choose a particular agent when you already know which model you want. Auto handles model selection within the available setup. Ask separately lets you compare independent responses; Consensus brings several perspectives into a shared conclusion.

For example, give agents a draft proposal, ask them to identify unclear promises, then request a concise revised version. Check facts and commitments yourself. Agreement between models is not proof that a claim is correct.

Images, credits and the next step

The desktop interface supports attaching an image from the clipboard. Use a model that supports the relevant input, and include a question explaining what it should examine. Clipboard access does not establish that a model can generate images or operate your other applications.

Colay uses subscriptions with credits and limits. Usage depends on models and the work requested; installing the Mac app does not turn a plan into unlimited usage or grant subscriptions to providers’ separate apps. Start with one real task, review the result and choose a suitable plan in Colay.
